About Summitview Missions Portal
Can you state the main theme of the story across the entire Bible? Would you believe it’s God getting the glory he deserves among the nations? Fittingly, we catch a glimpse of this consummated at the end of the Bible in Revelation 7:9-10. Since we know the ending, how do we get there? The Missions Portal is part of Summitview’s effort to that end. We are a group of believers focused on equipping one another as we prepare to launch to the mission field while also partnering with those welcoming the Nations to our church here.
What does it take for this to happen? Missions needs goers, mobilizers, and senders. Every person on the Summitview Missions Portal will act in at least one of these roles. “Mobilizers” are the cheerleaders and equippers for the potential goers. “Senders” are the encouragers and supporters for the goers once they have gone. And of course, goers are the ones who go to the nations. Whether you are remotely curious about the Nations or are eager to go now, we welcome your interest.
Members of the Missions Portal small group should have a heart for
- What God is doing among the nations,
- Actively making disciples locally, and
- Praying regularly for these to be done.
We meet weekly, typically on Wednesday evening, and on some occasions a different evening. Each week we share dinner together while the rest of our meeting includes
- Studying and discussing missions,
- Praying for our goers and the nations, or
- Sharing from our lives and our own journeys to the field.
